HoEF Habitat Improvement and Flood Prevention

Videos

2nd March 2022

We were asked to come out to assist with habitat creation and at the same time help prevent flooding in a local field. This field would flood from high rainfall, with a drainage ditch at the far end of the field running down and under nearby train tracks.

The solution was to create a bund at the bottom of the field to help store the water in this field. This would help alleviate any future flooding, but also create wetland for the local wildlife.

It is important when creating areas for local wildlife to consider the conditions and features that will make it most hospitable for the wildlife. Voles are in this area, so we created a vertical bank so they can burrow into it, as well as a ledge gradually going down.

This project was a success, and we enjoy being a part of your jobs, whether they be big or small. We used an excavator and a dumper to complete this wet land, our operators are CPSP and CITB accredited, so you can always have peace of mind and count on Henson Plant Hire to be professional and efficient.
